Think about that for a minute. This truth applies to many areas of our lives. Let’s apply it to our goals for now.
What drives us to do the things we do? For most of us our needs and/or are wants are what drive us. That means we are driven by things we don’t have that we either need or want. If you are living in a state where you have everything you need and everything you want you probably aren’t working towards anything. I mean…why would you?
If you have a goal you are driven by your appetite for that goal. I will even go further to say the energy and rate at which we pursue are goals depends on our level of hunger.
How hungry are you?
Let this encourage you…make a lists of things you want, need, desire, etc…things you lack. Assess your appetite for each thing..then let that appetite drive you to accomplish the goals that will allow you to satisfy your hunger. I think you’ll find there are things you don’t crave as badly as you thought and things you want more than you realized.
Be thankful for the “lack”…afterall, “Lack provides the drive to pursue your goals.”
